About Us

The Summit Center is Bancroft, Iowa (formerly St. John's School)

is a great place to host your next community event or

social gathering.

The portion of the St. John's School building that is now known as

the Summit Center was first opened in May of 1938.  While the

school closed in 2012,  it is continuing to provide education and learning to future generations through Kidstop Daycare and Preschool.  In 2014, the school building and cafeteria were purchased from St. John's Parish by The Bancroft Community Foundation. The foundation has created a committee comprised of local community members who are currently exploring the opportunities and future uses for this historic building that has provided so much for this community. The committee has already partnered Kidstop Daycare & Preschool and Kossuth County Connections. They are also exploring possibilities of other partnerships and opportunities for the building.

The Summit Center includes classrooms, a gym, and a cafeteria that all can be rented for use. This facility has a great location in Bancroft and has already been utilized for many community events.
